I need to know how users keep their projects organized
-
I need to know if users use any project management software to gather project information
-

-
I need to know if users will want files created in one place or just uploaded
-
I need to know if users would like to share items with other parties that are not in their company portal
-
I need to know if users prefer printed or digital files
-
I need to know if users would prefer a mobile or website application for site visits
-
I need to know how users know who their vendor rep is for each company

RESULTS
-
Interviews were 30-45 minutes long and were completed via a video call.
-
I found that most users organized their files via file folders on their desktop and printed a selection of documents to organize in a binder
-
I found it that only one user used a project management software, but they did not used it in full. They depended on their file organization on their desktop more
-
I found that users used microsoft office, autocad, photoshop, fusion 2020, and sketchup to create their design files for each project
-
I found that users would like to share documents with their clients, vendors, and other design teams not in their organization, but are worried about privacy and limiting their access
-
All users were interested in a mobile and website application.
-
All users rely on their memory to remember who their vendor rep is for each company
TAKEAWAYS
-
File organization was the main priority to keep each project maintained
-
A variety of complex design software is needed to create design files, but users would like one location to upload published documents
-
Users want to be able to share files and updates with other parties, but need limitations added
-
A website application will be used most, but a mobile application via phone or tablet is needed for quick access on a job site if they do not have their laptop
-
All users use a task organizer via their notes app on their phone or separate organization app
-
Users would like to send invites to clients to keep up with the project status/timeline so they do not need to be in constant contact with them via email or phone
-
A connection to each vendor will be needed to keep up to date with the latest products
